My 28th Father's Day

No one has to tell me how lucky I am to have you, because I've known for a long time.

When I think back over the years and remember everything you've done for me, I realize how wonderful you are.

You've taught me so much about life and love and giving, and those are lessons I'll never forget.

You showed me how to stand on my own in the world, and for that I'll always be grateful.

so many things that have added to my happiness have been gifts from you.

Maybe having a Dad like you has spoiled me a bit, but don't ever think I don't appreciate and love you,

As I read the above words a tear came to eye, My daughter understood what I promised her 28 years ago. My life belongs to her, I would be that guiding force in the unchartered waters of the life before her. Have I done it right all the time? Of course not, I'm human and I've made some mistakes.

My love for her has been unwavering, she is my little girl and I'm her father.

Sunday Morning, Mothers Day

To think back 28 years ago, the Sunday morning  of April 28, 1985, we were up early you couldn't sleep, you were uncomfortable and then your water broke. Jaclyn was determined to be born on a Sunday for some reason, since the couple of false alarms also happened to be on a Sunday. Maybe she had it figured out that I would still be home and not some little god forsaken town in the middle of no where.

Though she decided to start this process very early in the morning, she then decided to settle back and get herself comfortable and make you wait till 9 PM that evening before she was ready to grace  her presence to us.

The wait, the pain , the anticipation was worth every bit of it because we brought into this world a baby that that to this day we couldn't any prouder of. What you went through those nine months were all forgotten. Once she heard our voices she stopped crying , she knew that her mom and dad were their and they would always be their for her.

Even though so many years have passed that Sunday Morning will always be clear and vivid, it was your First Mothers day.

Tumblr - Still Logged In?

When you think that you know something and you really don't it can be eye opening.

I've been fascinated with the TV series Castle  and my curiosity makes me want  to find out all the information about it. In surfing the net I came across a web site called " The Couple that Is " which is one of many tumblr's dealing with the series. Several weeks ago I decided to post a comment, since I always have opinions.

Once I did, I couldn't help but notice a Logo and a familiar caption Knowonesdesign, which I realized was Jaclyn and Garrick's blog. Not knowing how Tumblr works it appeared as though Jaclyn was responding to my comment. I didn't think that Jaclyn was even interested in Castle, but The creator of the blog was named Ashley from California and then I assumed that it one Jaclyn's friend who was a bridesmaid at Jaclyn's wedding.  I tell my wife that Jaclyn is commenting on this Tumblr and I'm going to have a little fun with her. Jill thought it was great that we could share something together.

The next time I decided to post a comment, again Jaclyn's logo popped up. I decided to post comments with phrases - " A Blink of an Eye" and reference names - "PC for Peaches and Cream as a name for a Golden Retreiver ",that should get her attention since they were very special to us. I waited and waited and their was no response . I posted another comment, whereby I stated "Sweetie, I'm very proud of you, you write so well, but it's getting late, love you know who. Again, no response.

The next day all three of my comments were posted and once again it appeared as though Jaclyn had responded but not in a manner that she was talking to her father. I thought this was very strange.  So I left a message on her cell phone asking her to call me. She later did and said "Mom told me that you were on Tumblr thinking that you were talking to me. Dad I've never been on that sight and you were not talking to me. So be careful who you talk to." I replied " Jaclyn that's your logo and someone is using your identity on this blog, you  may want to find out who is doing this. After showing her the actual postings and how they were configured Jaclyn and Garrick realized that I was actually posting my comments as Knowonesdesign. I said " How could I being doing it?" Several weeks before they had logged in to their Tumblr from our home computer and never logged off of it. Tumblr operates that you remained logged in until which time you log off. So as I stated earlier When you think that you know something and you really don't it can be very eye opening experience.

After we had a very good laugh at my naiveness, Jaclyn said that they could set up  a tumblr account of my own. I don't need a Tumblr account since my curiosity about Castle is simply a divergence for me to get away from thinking about work all the time. By the way I have a built in Tumblr in my mind for with a "Blink of and Eye " I can go back to St Joseph's hospital and see myself staring till the wee hours of the following day of my baby girl and knowing that my life would never be the same.

Jaclyn, you were born on a Sunday and on this Sunday we celebrate your Birthday once again. Sweetheart, I could not be any more proud of you and I love you very much, Dad!

When Does I Love You Become I Love You?

It was 4:30 this morning and I wished you Happy Birthday, your 60th.  So I began thinking what else was I going to say do or whatever.  As you have seen I've been captivated by the the series  Castle, so I get to surf the Internet  get on all the up dates and latest on it. I came across this Fan Fiction section whereby would be writers write their take on the series or how they would perceive the series should go.

You know me and I don't read but this one Castle Fan Fiction - 100 days of Summer  has gotten my interest.  It begins with The Morning After Beckett and Castle finely get together and begin their romance.  Why am I telling you this? In the beginning of every one's relationships and romances the " I love yous are constantly coming and especially to get more sex and love making. Yet is this constant expression real love or just words.

Sweetie after 34 years of being your friend and lover I can tell you that real love takes time to nurture, grow and become what it is intended to be, two people becoming one.  With each day, especially today. and those that are to come, When I tell you that I love you, You know that  " I Love You "

The Journey of Love

Our Journey began with a simple glance that ignited a desire to connect both emotionally and physically. Like two strangers in the night and not knowing what to expect of each other, we quickly came to the realization that our lives would be connected forever.

We have experienced all the ups and downs that life could ever throw at us and  have managed to still love and respect each other more than ever.  Our bond and our resolve is so much more than we could have ever imagined when we first started. We have grown in understanding of each other while we appreciated that we are still two different people that at times see things differently but yet together.

Little things such as your pretty smile, playful touch, and sheer laughter fills my heart with ever so much more love for you. This Journey of Love with you has made my life complete and without any regrets.
